Golden Cup Goal

I know quite a few writer friends who are diving into NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) starting tomorrow. They plan on writing some insane word count by the end of the month.

I am not a novelist. I'm a picture book writer. But I like the idea of giving myself a big fat harry goal for one month and going for it. My friend Molly has posted a challenge of sorts on her blog as an alternative for NaNoWriMo, it's called The Golden Coffee Cup Award. I've decided to play this year.

The idea is that I make a goal and try to meet it by the end of the month. That's pretty much it.

So here's my goal for November (drum roll please):

I'm going to finish a draft of a dummy for my story currently called, HOME ON THE RIVER.
I've revised and revised and revised the story and I've developed the characters visually and even made a couple of sample illustrations to get myself going. But I have yet to get a full draft of the dummy. So, that's what I'm going to do in November.

Thanks for the inspiration, Molly!
